Scott helps organizations plan and execute strategic use of technology to make their internal processes more efficient and organic, and their external communications more effective. Scott came to Community IT Innovators in April 2006 after 12 years working in the nonprofit sector.ᅠ He worked for nine years with the Institute for Policy Studies and nearly four years with the Farm Animal Reform Movement. He has experience in fundraising, event management, activist education, national grassroots campaigns, organizational management, and, always, technology.ᅠ Scott has served on the boards of the Vegetarian Society of DC, and the Vegetarian Union of North America. While at the Institute for Policy Studies, he edited the book Light Among Shadows: A Celebration of Orlando Letelier, Ronni Karpen Moffitt, and Heroes of the Human Rights Movement.
While working on his Executive Certificate in Nonprofit Management at Georgetown University, Scott caught the strategic planning bug, and he is particularly energized when engaged in strategic discussions with clients. His other interests include his daughter Grace (born September 3, 2005), soccer, music, vegan cooking (and eating), and reading long books, some of them in Spanish.
