Street Sense

Street Sense is DC's street newspaper, providing opportunities for homeless vendors to earn money and share their stories and raising "public awareness on the issues of homelessness and poverty in the city."  The new StreetSense.org website launched in August 2009, and local blog DCist featured the site launch on their website.

The Street Sense website project was made possible by a grant from a former CITI employee's family. We are grateful to the family of Matt Impett, who donated funds for the project to Street Sense in memory of their loved one.  Their generous donation, matched by CITI, enabled a small community organization the chance to affordably implement a new website to better combat and raise awareness of homelessness.

CITI developed the new website using WordPress and incorporating features new to Street Sense such as an RSS feed, blog, easily-updated content, greater interactivity, and homelessness news from around the web.  Check out the new Street Sense site!
